This exercise is a loaded carry variation that works the core really hard in the anti-lateral flexion area - The function of the core preventing the spine from tilting sideways.
Due to the chaotic shakiness of the weight on one side and you trying to walk under control keeping a neutral spine, this exercise falls under "Dynamic Core" where the core must remain stable while everything around you is chaotic.
I loved this variation of the anti-lateral extension. Parallelly I got a good burn in the traps as well along with the obliques.
I did two sets of one min walks on each side with a heavy rubber band and a 25 kg kettlebell.
