Integrity gap is the difference between the person you present to the outside world vs the real you.
Majority of us live with a large integrity gap – we seek external approval, fear looking inside of us and if the world approves your fake you are sorted.
The larger the integrity gap the greater the sadness and frustration within. The body knows deep within what’s real.
How to close the gap:
Yes it’s scary at first as you will confront your true self, dark desires, guilty feelings. But you have to take that first courageous step to fix the negatives. You will only do it if you are truly fed up of faking it out there.
1. Writing journals – writing your brain out will help understand what you think plus it’ll be on paper for you to review.
2. Sitting or leasure walking in silence in nature will help you connect with tour authentic self. You will listen to your heart.
3. You will have to believe that it’s actually ok to be serious and a little pissed off while fighting for your dreams and improving yourself. It’s a painful process, a boxing match where you fight multiple opponents at a time. Imagine a fighter continuously taking blows, ducking and hitting hard, will he try and stand tall and smile at the spectators?
4. The more you practice it, the more this gap will be filled and eventually you will develop the confidence that what you are doing is difficult and not possible for the common man. Believe in this and take charge.
5. Fake friends and family members may not understand. It’s ok. You are doing this for yourself. If people can’t understand it’s not your duty to make them do. But the world will understand one day.
5. Once you are used to practicing, it’ll be involuntary. The gap will be gone and then you are one, you are whole, self confident and now you may March towards your dream with the authentic you, no faking, no need for validation.
And that will be the real happy you.
