Located in a place called Gholvad in Maharashtra. Approx. 120 km from Borivali. You can board any express train from borivali that goes to Vapi.
Located deep inside the wilderness, pretty interesting to locate it. You’ll find eco huts made of hay, soil and sand together called “Cob” but finished to perfection. With spring mattresses, canopy, soothingly comfortable pillows, couch, huge glass windows, well furnished sparkling clean washrooms.
There’s nothing that you cannot find in here… excellent lighting, air conditioning, huge lawns, outdoor dining, super silent surroundings to help you unwind and relax in nature. Couple of cute stray dogs add to the happiness 🙂
There’s a swimming pool and bicycles for taking a short trip to the nearby beaches. Very humble and responsive staff who help you out with some very delicious food in humongous quantities, soothing hot coffee in the morning, even with commute to the nearest landmark if required.
This small place called Gholvad isn’t so bad, you can find medical and confectionery shops. Approx 3km from there you find Bordi beach, a black and white sand combo. Quite a vast beach with areas to camp, cycling and enjoy horse riding. Mind you, if it’s late in the evening you may have to carry your headlamp while paddling back to the resort as it may get pitch dark in some patches making visibility difficult for you.
Night time spells another magic for you here. The staff gives you music speaker to play your favorite songs. In a party mood, play the hip hoppers, in a more romantic mood, play the soothing roms. With candle light dinner and your favorite music what else would you want.
The early mornings are so fresh with dew and with the smell of fresh grass. One could only hear the birds chirping. A cup of hot coffee with cake and cookies outdoors under soothing rays of the morning sun makes the entire experience Godlike. You fall in love with this place all over again.
Cob 5 is indeed a magical getaway, a getaway of getaways, being near to Mumbai it’s fairly easy to spend a weekend here and go back without any hassle.
Cost per night is INR 7,500 incl food and other facilities excluding to and fro from Gholvad railway station.
A point to note, if you miss the train from Gholvad to Borivali you may hire an autorick from Gholvad station to Dahanu and catch an Express train from there to Borivali. Autorick may charge 120-130 rupees.
Its recommended, go and unwind and come back afresh.
