Highest peak of Aravali ranges. 5650ft.
About 15km from Mt.Abu city hub.
Named after a descendant of Lord Vishnu.
Once you reach the base, start climbing the stairway around 150 steps towards the peak. Because of regular eateries and local shops, the journey is not tiring. You can actually take several halts, relax and move forward.
Try the lemon soda and sugarcane juice in the summers and sweet tea and Maggi in the winters.
The cave temple of Lord Vishnu. It is well maintained even when it is very crowded. You basically climb a narrow stairway and enter a small cave.
There’s a huge bell at the peak which when rung properly sends vibrations to your entire body.
Usually during the season, the peak is very crowded as people are clicking photos, ringing the bell, eating at the joints, trying traditional clothing on rent.
You may explore the less crowded land on the side of the peak. It’s a large rocky land where you can enjoy the cool breeze and chill out with friends. It’s kind of silent so best for recreation. You can bring your own food and eat here.
As this peak is located on the outskirts of a hill Station Abu, the weather is pleasant year round. It gets very cold in the winters but the climb becomes comfortable. In the summers, it’s recommended you start a little early. However, the peak is cooler as there’s a soothing breeze caressing you there.
In the local shops you will find antiques, paintings and jewellery from in and around Rajasthan. There’s nothing specific to Mt.Abu so you may just have a look and leave. However, try the local food.
If you don’t have your own vehicle, you will have to take a cab from your hotel/guest house. You may book it for 4-5 hours for a relaxing experience on the peak.
