About 2 hours from Munnar centre
Cab goes to the base of the estate, rest of the terrain is to be covered by jeeps which are rugged as the terrain is extremely rough. The jeep ride is hell of an adventure esp with the loud music.
You may also hike the off road to the plantation if you have time. The entire path is beautifully covered with green tea plants laid all around with occasional small waterfalls esp in the rainy seasons
Total time is 1.5-2 hours by jeep. Hike may take upto 4 hours.
Before starting off, you need to collect the ticket from the base costing INR 1800. To and fro jeep ride costs around INR 2500.
Once you reach the factory, collect your entry passes costing INR 100 per person.
It’s preferable to walk from the main gate to the factory as the path is extremely nature laden and cloud covered.
On the way there’s a small organic cafe offering local tea. Black tea is free of cost. You can see a small camp site at this cafe.
Once you reach the factory, the locals guide you on the production of tea, varieties of tea and they offer you local tea as well the taste of which awakens all your senses esp when there’s a cloud cover and a cool breeze outside. This tea is free of cost.

The way back via jeep is again an adventure due to the rough and bumpy off roads and you can enjoy fully while listening to the solid rock music / Bollywood item numbers.
Total to and fro time is approx. 4-5 hours including all delays and halts.
