Almost all of us do have likings, hobbies and if we are lucky enough we have passion residing in us. So why aren’t all of us pursuing what we love? Simple, either we are not mentally strong enough to endure the obstacles that come in the way or we aren’t physically capable to have the vitality and energy required to kick ass in life or both….we only want something but are down n out n ready to kill our dreams. One thing’s for sure, to live a life of legacy, to pursue our dreams and passions, we need to have both – physical and mental strength.
The physical – train the body for life. Nowadays it is all about vanity- the biceps, triceps, chest madness thanks to the supercool planet fitness lounges opened. Physical training should be functional, which can help us prepare for whatever life throws at us. It should build a decent foundation of strength and cardio, of course some added muscle would be an advantage too. Mind you we don’t need a gym for that, the body is enough.
The mental – the epidemic in today’s world is a lack of belief and excess of external inputs absorbed by the head brain. No introspection, no self knowledge. Decondition ! Declare an all out war on the normality what the world wants to see through us. Rather develop self belief and self confidence through sheer effort and hard work. Of course the physical training will have a major role to play in our mental prowess, but be ready to face your fears, get uncomfortable, practice meditation, and surround the self with positive influences even if it means being alone. Keep the head held high knowing that we are working towards improving ourselves.
Once embarked on these two ways, start working on the want and if we don't know the want, start searching for it. Some people would ask “why bother improving of we don't know what we like, what we want?” The least they can do is dedicate their lives to searching for the want – the passion, the love and MAKE THIS SEARCH YOUR PASSION :). I am sure most of us will find our love during this journey. At least we’ll have a certain satisfaction lying on our deathbeds that we improved ourselves, that we are dying pursuing our passion and a life lived kicking ass.
