Why do I train?


I train for life ! To prepare for whatever shit it throws at me. It could be a sudden challenge for a 100 meter sprint or a friendly 10k run or jumping into a valley hanging from a string or max effort deadlifts in a famished state.


But most importantly, it prepares me for the things I'd love to experience in life. Like my style of travelling, where we just don't stop, we keep on exploring without being tired because we get so full, full of the grandeur. There is always a physical component to our travel, be it a hike or trek or adventurous activity that breaks your monotony.



Training consistently, I've never had to specifically prepare for shit, it could be a 2 am sudden plan of a road trip or a late night gym session or acclimatizing in the high mountains.

Simply, training gives you the physical experience of what your heart has already dreamt of.


There is one most important thing that training consistently provides. It takes me to a "zone", a "void" as Dave Tate calls it, where nothing else is visible or can be heard. It's my "zone", mu meditative state, where no matter how things are outside of the training dojo - family, work, relationships, media, etc, they don't matter, they are null and non-existent.

Everything shuts off, no matter how much chaos there is around you, once you lace up your trainers and down that black coffee, it is you vs you! Pump it up, blast some goddamn music and get to work.



Yes! It makes you thick skinned which you need to really fight the negative shit and criticism that is there against you. There are shitty people, always judgmental and commanding you to be who they are. Training is my "switch", it's my hammer, the way I give it back to the world.

It may sound a bit arrogant, but yeah! Giving it back doesn't mean throwing shit at the world. But learning about yourself and imparting knowledge and wisdom to others for the betterment of the world.


There is work, lots of work! There is pain and suffering, there is fatigue and resilience, but the push on the cold iron is true, there are no subjective outcomes, what you put in is what you get back. It humbles you, makes you self-aware and paves the pathway towards realizing your dreams.
